Money Can't Buy Happiness. Volunteering Does.

Today, a group of volunteers and I met to make cards. Some will be sold to help Hope for Healiing.Org with expenses and other cards will go to shelters, women's groups and the like. We all had a good time doing something for others. I enjoyed meeting people. It was like walking into a room full of friends that you haven't met yet.

One of the bittersweet things about today is knowing that not everyone volunteers. Some people think that giving freely of their time is demeaning or degrading. To me, that's sad. We had a great time today. Everyone walked away carrying bucketloads of warm fuzzies. It just goes to prove the new saying...
