People tend to view the homeless as being lazy. This embeded video is one example that puts that myth to rest. For some, it will be easier to blame her or to judge. There are a few things I noticed from watching it that pulls at my heart.
She laughs but it's not a funny laugh. To me, it's a nervous, anxious laugh. Hasn't everyone done something unusual when in front of the camera?
The children still try to play. They don't have space but they're trying to be kids.
Despite not having a car she wants to work badly enough that she rides her bicycle to and from her job. She hasn't given up. How many of us would persevere under these circumstances?
